There are a number of news items to cover; it’s a busy summer!
*St. Cloud Public Library – CMW has hung a show that began July 1st and will be on display until August 15, 2015. Do stop by and view their work.
*Munsinger Gardens – Art in the Park: Small Treasures – Kerry Kupferschmidt is organizing this one day CMW show to be held from 10 AM-7PM on Thursday, July 16th at Munsinger Gardens. A number of paintings that measure up to 11″x14″ will be on display and as designated, are for sale. Come out, enjoy the river, the weather, and the other art work on display that day.
*Paramount Show – This CMW show is coming up and will be on display August 1st – early Sept. Signup is due by July 27th.
* CMW Show and Sale at August 16th Art Crawl – Several artists will have their exhibits with a number of their paintings at this event to be held at the Paramount– For questions contact the coordinators Sandra Driscoll email@example.com and Marilyn Clement firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Art Call from the St. Cloud Arts Commission The City of St. Cloud is seeking up to 4 artists and/or artist teams to create designs for city crosswalks. This is a fast-track project and the timeline is tight. Each of the four artists or artist teams will receive $1,000 stipend to create a digital design that will be fabricated into a stencil to be used in the public right-of-way. The deadline for submitting qualifications is Friday, July 17. Qualification submissions must include: Contact Information, Up to 5 digital work samples with a brief description of each, an artist statement or resume, and 2 references. Please do not hesitate to call or email if you have any questions about this project. Feel free to pass this information along to any Minnesota artist or designer you know who may be interested. 3. Lian Quan Zhen Art Classes (held 2 weeks in June, 2015)
There was great attendance at these 4 day classes with much learning achieved thanks to Lian. A social held June 15 provided a chance for more networking and comraderie. Bonnie Schwichtenberg so graciously provided a home away from home for Lian during his stay here in St. Cloud. Lian provided a demo for the entire CMW group on June 16th which was well received. Another perk was that Lian autographed each of his books purchased by those taking his classes — the autograph was not only his name but an original painting inside the book cover.
