From Kathy:  “This workshop will be “Twenty Two Innovative ways to paint florals“  Painting the same old floral paintings, realistic and boring?  It is time to break out of the box and let yourself be creative. I have 22 different ideas for you to use. Bring your favorite pictures of flowers, gardens and you too can look at subjects with new eyes.  This is a 3-day workshop and has been so popular that I’ve had to teach it many times.  I teach artists how to be an individual rather than follow the masses and it frees students up to take ownership of their own ideas and go with them.

CMW Workshop with Dan Mondloch

This workshop is completed. Photos are below.

When:

Saturday February 2nd, 9 a.m. – 3:30 pm Sunday February 3rd, 9 a.m. – 3:30 pm.

Workshop Experience:

In this workshop the goal was  to combine acrylics, watercolor, and gouache in an innovative painting approach. The process will be to lay down wet into wet washes using fluid acrylics. (regular body acrylics will also work if you don’t want to purchase fluid acrylics, but fluids work better for this step). Following the acrylic wash, a diluted clear coat will be applied to seal the surface. Then watercolors will be used to fill in most of the painting, with gouache used toward the end for finishing accents (and of course to cover up mistakes!). White gouache can be mixed with existing watercolor paints to create colored gouache.
