**November CMW Meeting
Monday, November 14 at the Paramount Studios – 6 PM
Peggy Hall will be the demonstrator for this meeting. Here is what she says about her work:
I call myself an “intuitive painter” — Putting my energy into each brushstroke. Each painting I create has my unique style and color. My diversity can be experienced in the various media I utilize. As an artist I never limit myself. I am open to exploring new techniques. My goal is that my brushwork will reflect my passion and love for painting. When my painting touches your heart and soul, I know it is truly good.”

**December CMW Meeting
Monday, Dec 12, 2016 CMW Holiday Meeting at Paramount Studios – 6 PM
This is a holiday social so bring a treat, bring an original Christmas card for the card exchange, bring your holiday spirit and enjoy the ASW show.
River’s Edge Convention Center – CMW currently has an exhibit hanging so stop by and view your colleagues’ work. The show will end on December 19, 2016
Waite Park Library Show – Planned for February, 2017: Hang and takedown dates to be determined. One painting per artist. Sign up with Robyn York at email@example.com or at the next CMW meeting.
2017 – In addition to the Waite Park Library exhibits are being planned for shows at the Good Shepherd Care Center, for St. Cloud Hospital, , Centracare, Sioux Falls S.D. Gallery and more. Watch this website and the CMW newsletter for further details.
First Holiday Art Sale by CMW members Donna Jarvae and Carol Euerle
To be held: Friday, December 2nd from 3-8 PM and on Saturday, December 3rd from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Place: 551 2nd St. NW, Richmond MN. Follow the signs
*Matting Workshop – November 5, 2016 was given by Robyn York and Bonnie Schwichtenberg who demonstrated and explained mat cutters and their approach. There were 2 different brands of mat cutters i.e. Logan and Altos shown. Ten members attended and it was very well received.
*Lian Quan Zhen Fall workshop October 24-26, 2016 focus on Chinese Painting. was held at the Paramount Visual Arts Center. There were 19 attendees in attendance. It was an enlightening workshop painting on raw or “shuan” paper and on “sized” rice paper.
Lian uses a very deliberate approach to his teaching – step by step.
Attendees painted a floral peony painting,
a landscape on crushed rice paper
and an undersea coral ridge using Chinese paints and brushes.
Lian displayed a number of his paintings:
* Campfire Bay Resort – CMW Paint In – Cushing MN – March 9-12, 2017: Plan now to come and enjoy distraction-free days of painting to your heart’s content or whatever you want to do — take walks, sit by the lake, take naps, read, watch videos – or do all of them. The Resort accommodates groups and is well setup for great work areas. Network with friends and colleagues. Open to CMW members. Sign up at one of the CMW meetings or contact a board member.
